Senior Merchandiser 12 month FTC

As a Merchandiser you will be working closely with our Head of Merchandising to support the growth of the Brand. We are looking for a candidate already operating at an experienced Merchandiser level within a fast paced retail business, experience in DTC private label is a must. When you're not busy planning and managing stock levels, you'll also be looking after intake and focusing on sales performance. You'll be part of the go-to team for many other business areas, and should have experience in building cross-functional relationships and multitasking.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Responsibility for the WSSI, driving out key findings based on performance. Reviewing consistently in line with trading performance.
  • Planning of budgets by category, option count, and depth of buy based on the overall business and financial goals of the company.
  • Monitor stock levels to ensure products are launched in a timely manner, we are fully in stock of continuity lines, and highlight any risk.
  • Review sales forecasts based on performance, and action re-forecasts.
  • Analyse and monitor best and worst sellers and makes informed recommendations for action as well as restocks as necessary.
  • Monitors and maintains buying margin and gross profit margins as requested.
  • Making active recommendations to the business via Head of Merchandising as appropriate.
  • Ensures productive relationship between merchandising/buying functions and all other business areas to ensure goals achieved- we are all one big team; collaboration is key.
  • Demonstrates a strong level of commercial awareness which considers customer profile, competitor activity and developments with the wider marketplace.
  • Oversee stock and intake management, be main point of contact for suppliers.
  • Manage and drive development of Assistant Merchandiser and Administrator
  • Creating ad hoc reports – therefore Advanced Excel skills are a must

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous minimum 2 years' experience operating at a Merchandiser level (ecommerce preferable)
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively at all levels
  • Ability to work under pressure with proven problem-solving skills
  • Strong numeracy skills and ability to analyse & collate info from various sources
  • Commercially aware and business focussed
  • Able to manage & motivate your team to achieve both individual and team goals
  • Excellent understanding of all MS Office products especially Excel

As a start-up we require you to be agile, and willing to be hands on in supporting the wider business with additional requests. This is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract and we offer an excellent salary / benefit package plus hybrid working.
