KYB Analyst - Crypto & Digital Assets

As a KYB (Know Your Business) Analyst, you will play a critical role in the onboarding of cryptocurrency businesses. You will be responsible for conducting thorough business verification checks, using advanced blockchain analytics tools such as Chainalysis and Elliptic to assess and monitor the legitimacy of businesses.

Client Details

The client is a London based payments firm, with offices across the globe. We are looking for someone who has had exposure to working within a start-up/ fintech firm, ideally with experience from the Payments sector.

Description

  • Conduct KYB checks for new business clients during the onboarding process, focusing on those in the cryptocurrency and digital asset sector.
  • Utilise blockchain analysis tools (e.g., Chainalysis, Elliptic) to assess risk and monitor crypto transactions.
  • Verify the legitimacy of businesses by reviewing documents, including but not limited to incorporation certificates, shareholder information, and proof of operations.
  • Analyse and identify potential risks in business relationships, including exposure to illicit activities such as fraud, money laundering, or sanctions violations.
  • Collaborate with the compliance and risk teams to ensure adherence to applicable AML, KYC, and KYB regulations.
  • Provide detailed reports of risk assessments and escalate suspicious activities when necessary.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes within the cryptocurrency space, particularly around KYB and AML.
  • Maintain accurate and organised records of onboarding and verification processes.
  • Assist in refining and improving onboarding workflows to increase efficiency and compliance standards.

Profile

A successful KYB & KYC Analyst should have:

  • Proven experience in a KYB/KYC or similar compliance role, preferably within the cryptocurrency or fintech space.
  • Strong knowledge of AML regulations and compliance frameworks specific to cryptocurrency.
  • Hands-on experience with blockchain analytics tools such as Chainalysis and Elliptic is essential.
  • Ability to analyse large sets of data and identify red flags or patterns indicative of risky or fraudulent behavior.
  • Familiarity with various international regulations concerning cryptocurrencies, digital assets, and payment systems.
