Located in London, your new school provides tailored support for children with diverse needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, and Speech, Language, and Communication needs. Your responsibilitiesAs a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be required to:

  • Organise the classroom and learning resources
  • Provide pupils with academic and emotional support
  • Provide personal care to pupils if required
  • Promote and encourage independence and personal development in pupils and maintain high expectations of behaviour at all times
  • Liaise with colleagues effectively for the benefit of the students and working environment.
  • Provide a safe learning environment for the children
  • Get the classroom ready for lessons and clearing away afterwards to maintain a safe and clean environment
  • Record and report a pupil's progress to the teacher

Requirements

  • GCSE Maths and English Language qualification minimum Grade 4 or equivalent is essential.
  • Have a valid in-date Enhanced DBS (preferably on the Update Service).
  • Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
  • It is essential that they have experience providing specialist support to children with SEN and preferably 1:1 support with children who have moderate to severe behavioural difficulties.
  • The ideal candidate for the school is someone who has experience working with either ASC, Dyslexia, Challenging Behaviour, PLD, MLD, PECs and Makaton.
