Your responsibilitiesAs a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be required to:
- Organise the classroom and learning resources
- Provide pupils with academic and emotional support
- Provide personal care to pupils if required
- Promote and encourage independence and personal development in pupils and maintain high expectations of behaviour at all times
- Liaise with colleagues effectively for the benefit of the students and working environment.
- Provide a safe learning environment for the children
- Get the classroom ready for lessons and clearing away afterwards to maintain a safe and clean environment
- Record and report a pupil's progress to the teacher
Requirements
- GCSE Maths and English Language qualification minimum Grade 4 or equivalent is essential.
- Have a valid in-date Enhanced DBS (preferably on the Update Service).
- Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
- It is essential that they have experience providing specialist support to children with SEN and preferably 1:1 support with children who have moderate to severe behavioural difficulties.
- The ideal candidate for the school is someone who has experience working with either ASC, Dyslexia, Challenging Behaviour, PLD, MLD, PECs and Makaton.
