Security Analyst Responsibilities

  • Audit the implementation of information security, data retention, and cybersecurity policies to ensure that they are being adhered to across all Information Systems and Services, including the collection and recording of evidence for the adherence to policy and the identification any deficiencies.
  • Contribute to compliance reviews. Assists in the assessment of configuration and security procedures for adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Identifies threats to the confidentiality, integrity, availability, accountability, and relevant compliance of information systems. Conducts risk, vulnerability and business impact assessments of business applications and computer installations and recommends appropriate action to management. This would also include organising Penetration tests and follow-up actions based on the results.
  • Co-ordinate investigations on suspected attacks and resolution of security incidents, in accordance with established procedures including incident management procedures. Uses forensics where appropriate. Reports on findings and lessons learnt/improvement actions.
  • Explains the purpose of, and provides advice and guidance on, the application and operation of elementary physical, procedural, and technical security controls (for example, the key controls defined in IS27002).
  • Delivers elements of the security components of system architectures.
  • Support and liaise with Compliance Team and other relevant stakeholders. This would include working with project teams on the deployment of new Information Systems and Services.
  • Lead on the completion of DPIA documents ready for review.

Essential Knowledge & Experience

  • Relevant academic or Professional qualifications in IT or Cyber Security
  • Protecting against and managing risks related to the use, storage and transmission of data and information systems.
  • Delivering management, technical and administrative services to implement security controls and security management strategies.
