Operational Finance manager

JN Bentley are looking for an Operational Finance Manager to join our Finance team. We encourage agile working but will anticipate a minimum of 3 days per week to be based in our Skipton Head Office.

We are open to receiving applications from candidates either looking to work on a full-time basis or a minimum of 30 hours per week, to be worked over 4 or 5 days.

Candidates will have the following:

To be successful, you will have proven experience of working in a similar role, leading teams and managing high volume processes. A relevant Finance or Tax qualification e.g. ACCA, ACA or CIMA and experience in the construction sector is advantageous but not a pre requisite.

The successful candidate will have confidence with ERP systems, databases and handling large sets of data.

The ability to work accurately and to achieve deadlines is a must. This is a fast-paced environment and will suit a candidate who enjoys a mixture of both reporting and ad hoc project work. This is a great opportunity for an individual with strong interpersonal skills and a positive "can do" attitude to identify opportunities for improvement and drive change.

The role will report to the Head of Finance.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Oversight of Accounts Payable function, being a team of 10, who are managed by a highly experienced supervisor
  • Oversight of Transactional processing function, being a team of 4, who are managed by a highly experienced supervisor
  • Oversight of off shore processing function, being a team of 7 who support the teams above
  • Development and monitoring of KPIs for key processing functions to monitor performance and identify opportunities for performance
  • Add value through continual review of systems and processes to ensure processing functions are operating as efficiently and accurately as possible.
  • Identify and deliver areas for improvement
  • Support compilation of staff charge out rates annually
  • Submit payment performance reporting and ensure ongoing compliance with requirements of prompt payment code
  • Maintenance of robust process notes and annual redrafting of operating controls and processes (BMS)
  • Embed continual training and development of the team
  • Engage with both internal and external stakeholders where required, including audit functions.
