Shillito Executive Search have been retained by one of our key clients in Sheffield, a sub £10 million turnover sub-contact engineering business as they look to recruit a Technical Sales Manager.
We're looking for a technically minded Sales Manager with knowledge of sheet metal or laser cutting who can manage a small team of Estimators and also work with key clients in the area.
Reporting to Managing Director, the purpose of the role is to lead the sales function of the business, including all commercial and technical support activity from new client lead generation to securing customer purchase orders.
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Management of Internal Sales Team
- Involvement in marketing of the business/services
- Key Account Management - Inc. Customer Visitations
- Management of Rfq's/Enquiry Process
- Supporting and advising Directors to formulate sales strategy
- Reporting Sales Performance, Sales Forecasting etc..
We're looking for someone with a combination of both strong technical knowledge and commercial understanding of marketplace to be effective in this critical role.

You'll need to be technically qualified with practical experience gained within a sheet metal, laser profiling or fabrication business.
You should have experience of working in a dynamic commercial environment where speed and accuracy are needed simultaneously.
Customer focused and able to build relationships quickly with both clients and internal team members. Experience of working with sheet metal CAD/CAM processing and estimating software an advantage.
