Our client is seeking a meticulous and experienced Payroll Specialist to join their team, based on the University Campus in Reading. Reporting directly to the Payroll Director, you will play a critical role in ensuring payroll accuracy and delivering excellent customer service. You'll join a friendly, supportive team and benefit from assigned parking directly outside the office.
**Key Responsibilities
- Payroll Processing: Manage and process both monthly and weekly payrolls, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Handle statutory year-end returns, including P60s.
- Payroll Data Management: Create, maintain, and update payroll records in line with business needs.
- Query Resolution: Respond to employee payroll inquiries, providing clear and accurate information.
- HMRC Compliance: Liaise with HM Revenue and Customs as needed, maintaining compliance with current legislation.
- Statutory Payments: Process statutory payments such as SSP, SMP, SPP, and SAP.
- Auto-Enrolment Pensions: Oversee the company's auto-enrolment pension processes.
- Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality of client and employee payroll data.
**Key Skills & Competencies
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of payroll experience.
- System Knowledge: Familiarity with SAGE Payroll or other computerized payroll systems is preferred.
- Legislative Knowledge: Strong understanding of HMRC legislation, including NI rates and statutory payment guidelines.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel, and Word is essential.
- Adaptability: Willingness to work flexible hours, especially during peak periods.
