We are looking for experienced Band 5/6 children's nurses to join one of the best Trusts in South East England. Job Role

  • Work within the inpatient area and a busy Outpatient Dressings Clinic.
  • Develop wound care skills and deliver an excellent nurse-led service.
  • Care for pre-op patients, post-op patients, and dressing clinic patients.
  • Prepare and care for children undergoing plastic or maxillofacial surgery.
  • Support children with burns injuries in the outpatient dressing clinic.
  • Support parents whose children are undergoing surgery.

Skills

  • Registered Nurse (Children)
  • Experience caring for paediatric surgical patients
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to plan and prioritize care for patients

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Good time management and teaching skills

Essential

  • Experience with acute/chronically sick children or specialized transferable skills
  • Understanding of professional and current issues in children's nursing
  • Understanding of the importance of research and evidence-based practice
  • Basic computer skills
  • Understanding of safeguarding issues per Trust policies and procedures
  • Understanding or evidence of fulfilling requirements for Revalidation
  • Understanding of clinical governance principles (e.g., risk management, audit, quality)
  • Experience working as part of a diverse team
  • Experience contributing to an inclusive workplace culture
