We have a requirement for a Software Test Engineer, providing support to engineering teams on a variety of engineering equipment and products throughout their lifecycle.

What you'll be doing
Supporting with proposals, design and design proving, test, commissioning, in-service support and training, you will work individually and within a team environment of multi-disciplined specialists and engineering disciplines to achieve programme results and customer deliverables in a timely and accurate manner.
- Define and agree testing strategies
- Define and manage project test environments, both physical and virtual
- Requirements analysis
- Planning, developing and documentation of test cases
- Executing test cases
- Producing formal test documentation
- Managing formal acceptance events
- Reporting test progress to project teams
- Manage reporting and clearing of defects
- Maintain configuration control of test environments
- Manual and automation test experience required
- Provide input into defining further automation test tools
- A hands on approach to testing
The skills you need
Essential Experience:
- Experience of testing desktop and web applications, integrated services, multi component systems, and hardware/software integration.
- Integration testing.
- Interrogating databases, log files and other repositories of data to confirm the original state and output of software operations.
- Requirements verification and validation.
Desirable Experience
- Experience of using Gherkin, Cucumber, and Visual Studio.
- Other desktop and web application automation tools experience.
- Experience with GitLab is also beneficial.
- Formal Acceptance test activities.
- Load and stress testing.
- Testing software on hardware devices.
