About the Role:
A newly created Legal Counsel role working closely with the General Counsel in a small team. The position will involve working on broad contracts across commercial lending and structured finance matters, with a key focus on trade finance and supply chain finance on an international basis. You will support the business in rolling out financial products across trade finance, e-money, etc, while working on cross-border transactions and typical industry regulatory matters (KYC, AML documentation, ISO27001 matters, etc.). You will also maintain relationships while negotiating the likes of note purchases with funders including banks.
About You:
You will be an England & Wales qualified lawyer with a corporate background, and ideally 1-4 PQE as a guide (candidates with relevant experience outside this range will be gladly considered). Experience in trade finance, supply chain finance or general structured finance will be advantageous. As a trusted advisor to senior decision-makers and internal stakeholders (including treasury, BD and operations teams), you will have the desire to understand the business pervasively, showcasing yourself as a true expert. You will be able to come into the London office three days per week on average. The business is happy to look at candidates both from private practice and in-house settings.
