Compliance Manager - Wealth & Asset Management - London

Do you have background in Compliance within a Wealth & Asset Management setting, do you have experience of leading a team? Then this role could be for you!

This exciting role focuses on providing compliance advisory support to the business on all compliance and regulatory topics in relation to the businesses core products i.e. current, savings and deposit accounts, card offerings and the regulatory requirements around payments going through those accounts, to ensure that the company meets regulatory requirements and expectations and that any compliance risks are promptly identified and addressed.

You will manage a team of compliance officers, ensuring the business objectives are delivered and provide guidance and support where needed. Additionally support personal development and growth of team members. Act as a role model and mentor for other members of the team.

Main Responsibilities

  • To provide regulatory advice, support and challenge to the first line of defence, in relation to the banking products offered by the business including supporting the business to design and implement effective control frameworks. This requires the individual to have and and maintain a deep understanding of the UK regulatory environment and relevant legislation and regulation impacting the Bank and its products, in particular FCA handbook obligations and Payment Services Regulation.
  • To ensure that the business consider customer outcomes in all aspects of their work
  • To respond to compliance and regulatory questions from the business in a timely manner
  • To build strong relationships with the first line of defence and to clearly articulate regulatory expectations and standards to colleagues, both verbally and in writing. This is in relation to current business practices, new business initiatives and new regulatory expectations.
  • To report and escalate compliance risks to relevant senior management and the Deputy Chief Compliance Officer and Chief Compliance Officer in a timey manner
  • To attend key governance committees/forums and steercos to provide real time advice and effective challenge to stakeholders.

The Ideal candidate

  • The individual should be ambitious and have strong communication (both written and verbal), reasoning and influencing skills, which are essential to develop and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Deep working knowledge of the FCA rules contained within the High level Standards and Business Standards sections of the FCA Handbook.
  • A strong understanding of the UK regulations and rulebooks specifically in relation tobanking products. Strong understanding of Payment Service Regulations. Additional understanding of the European requirements that apply would be beneficial.
