Malvern, Worcestershire Up to £25,000 based on experience, plus bonus, benefits Full-time, on-site Monday to Friday

T2M are recruiting on behalf of a renowned educational establishment base in an area of outstanding natural beauty for an Accounts Assistant to join a dynamic team. Our client is looking for an enthusiastic, outgoing, and passionate person looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity and passionate about contributing to all aspects of the college operations from a financial perspective.

Responsibilities of an Accounts Assistant:

  • Manage the purchase ledger system, including invoice processing, order tracking, and resolving discrepancies with suppliers.
  • Create student invoices and manage their distribution to parents and agents.
  • Assist with creditor list production, monthly reconciliations, and posting charges.
  • Facilitate weekly BACS runs and ensure proper recording for analysis and reconciliation.
  • Support monthly end journals, accruals, and prepayments.
  • Reconcile credit card payments and ensure accuracy with ledgers and backup documentation.
  • Handle payroll processing, including statutory year-end returns, P60s, and maintaining records.
  • Administer and update the workplace pension scheme, including annual teacher pension updates.
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR in managing personnel files and archiving staff records.
  • Assist with enquiries regarding student accounts, staff payroll, petty cash, and other financial queries.
  • Take on ad hoc duties as needed, such as renewing utility contracts.

Requirements to be a successful as an Accounts Assistant:

  • Qualified or QBE, this role would also be suitable for someone who is looking to move out of practice.
  • Experience with accounting software, such as Xero.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with staff, students, and suppliers, and a commitment to safeguarding.
