Management Accountant / Finance Manager, Hertfordshire, £50-60K with share options after successful probation period, pension and free parking.
You must be a qualified accountant or very close to getting CIMA / ACCA certification and be prepared to do 5 days a week in their Hertfordshire office.
Ideally you will be able to demonstrate a strong background as a Management Accountant / Finance Manager or similar.
The role:
You will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the company. This includes financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. You will work closely with the executive team to provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide and manage monthly management accounts, providing detailed insights into financial performance.
- Analyse income streams
- Provide forecast and profit/loss reports
- Implement strategies to improve the financial performance, streamline operations and maximise profitability
- Provide detailed costings
- Collaborate with management to identify opportunities and constraints for company growth.
- Model financial scenarios and provide recommendations based on analysis.
- Work closely with the management team, particularly with the CEO and COO to deliver financial information and support strategic planning.
- Attend board meetings to discuss financial matters.
- In the future, prepare the business for the sale process
- Supervise one direct report
- Utilise Sage and the CRM system for financial management
Your Background / skills:
5-10+ years previous experience is essential
- Ideally a fully qualified accountant ie ACCA or CIMA
- Able to prepare statutory accounts
- Strong understanding of financial principles, practices and regulations
- Advanced proficiency in financial modelling and analysis
- Ideally previous experience of being involved in taking a business to sale
- Energetic and self-starter with a finger on the pulse of financial performance.
- Ability to work closely with key stakeholders and build strong relationships, particularly with the COO.
- Able to maintain confidentiality while handling financial matters
- Experience with managing a team
- Proficiency in Sage and CRM systems
