On a day-to-day basis, an insurance account manager in a client-facing role would be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, serving as their primary point of contact for all insurance-related matters. This would involve regularly communicating with clients to understand their needs, providing them with tailored insurance solutions, and ensuring their policies remain up-to-date and compliant with regulations. The account manager would also be tasked with preparing and presenting renewal terms and quotations, as well as handling any client queries or concerns promptly and professionally. In addition, they would collaborate closely with brokers and insurers to administer insurance contracts and handle claims in accordance with FCA requirements and authority levels, keeping all stakeholders informed throughout the process.

As an Account Handler, you will be responsible for providing exceptional insurance products and services to our client's customers. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a portfolio of commercial insurance contracts
  • Liaising with customers, brokers, and insurers to administer insurance contracts
  • Preparing and issuing new business and renewal terms and quotations
  • Handling consumer and commercial property claims in accordance with FCA requirements and authority levels
  • Engaging and updating stakeholders with claims information regularly
  • Responding to customer queries via multiple channels in a timely and professional manner
  • Supporting our client's strategic and operational goals

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Significant experience working within a property insurance operation, either for an insurance company or broker
  • Extensive knowledge of property insurance (commercial and consumer)
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications
  • Comprehensive knowledge of FCA obligations relevant to insurance provision
  • People management experience
  • Adaptability and the ability to work under pressure and tight timelines
