About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Inspector to join our dynamic Housing Property Services team, focusing on fire safety and capital programme delivery. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing electrical works, ensuring all installations meet high standards of quality, safety, and compliance.

As an Electrical Inspector, you will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of our projects, working closely with contractors, external consultants, and internal teams. You'll be the driving force behind ensuring all electrical systems are installed to specification, comply with statutory regulations, and are delivered to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough on-site inspections and quality assurance checks on all electrical works.
  • Monitor contractors' compliance with project specifications, technical briefs, and legislative requirements.
  • Maintain accurate site notes, records, and daily logs of activities.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including contractors, colleagues, and residents.
  • Provide technical guidance and support on engineering installations and maintenance.
  • Assist in preparing project reports and providing feedback on contractor performance and client satisfaction.
  • Support project delivery within budget and agreed timeframes, ensuring strict adherence to health and safety standards.

About You:

You will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with a deep understanding of building services and compliance. You should be able to communicate complex technical information clearly and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Qualifications & Skills:

  • HNC in Building Services, Engineering, or equivalent, OR completion of a recognised apprenticeship with significant relevant experience.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of electrical installations for lighting, power, CCTV, door entry systems, and related services.
  • Proven ability to manage on-site inspections, problem-solve engineering challenges, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Strong report-writing skills and experience in supervising and liaising with contractors.
  • Knowledge of statutory regulations, British Standards, and engineering contract forms.
