The standard of design, construction and compliance for the electricity networks that ESPUG ultimately owns and manages is of paramount importance.

Continued relationships that we have with ICPs and end users for the build out of networks under the asset adoption process are key to achieving compliance.

Role Purpose

  • The role will have a broad range of knowledge across electricity distribution with particular experience of network development, customer connections and policy setting.
  • This role will support the Head of Assets to engage with industry and regulatory forums alongside the Regulations Team to ensure that ESPUG complies with and manages the risk of regulatory reform and will develop and implement a strategy and action plan to ensure that ESPUG has suitable Policy to address compliance of networks.
  • Implements processes, reporting and assurance frameworks to ensure safety & compliance requirements are met including retention of MCop, ISO55001 and any other Company accreditations.
  • Supports opportunities in the Industrial & Commercial sector.

There is an opportunity to develop the role to undertake wider asset management activities across the Group.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for

  • Developing, reviewing, and maintaining policy associated with all aspects of connections and asset management policy.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policy and national and international standards across distribution.
  • Working to develop and monitor robust policies, processes and procedures to ensure regulatory and statutory compliance with licence obligations.
  • Ensuring asset records are accurate and suitable to meet regulatory requirements and minimise risk – this includes leading audits on completion records.

Requirements

  • Reporting on compliance of electric assets, policy and procedure.
  • Assuring compliance of acquired assets across all voltage levels.
  • Supporting the design team with technical & policy direction.
  • Supporting the assessment of the asset conditions to ensure their suitability for continued service and setting specific engineering policies

Key Skills

  • Ideally be qualified to degree level equivalent in Electrical Power Engineering. An opportunity to be supported through gaining Professional Status under the IET.

Specific key skill requirements:

  • Understanding of the Regulatory and HSE Framework.
  • Knowledge of the philosophy and principles relating to the design of electricity distribution networks
  • Broad knowledge of the electricity industry Standards, Recommendations, Specifications and Legislation relevant to the construction and operation of electricity distribution networks.
  • Computer Literate.
  • Brings an energetic and curious approach to problem solving. Ability to innovate and to embed continuous improvement and innovation through a team with.
  • An ability to adopt a wider perspective than the immediate bounds of the job description.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Excellent relationship management skills.
  • Comfortable working in a team environment.
