Python/React Developer - Commodities Risk

Python/React Developer - C# - sought by leading investment bank based in London - Hybrid - Contract

Experience / Background

  • Solid Commodities Risk background, experience with interacting with the trading desks and capability to analyse and address immediate issues and queries.
  • 6+ years of recent hands-on experience with Python and ideally C# & SQL Server. Evidence of strong delivery.
  • Capability to write code using RAD (Rapid Application Development) to analyze, troubleshoot prod issues.
  • React skills are good to have - the ideal candidate could work front to back.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex system and application issues.

Preferred Skills

  • Commodities risk and PnL background with different commodities assets such as Crude Oil, Natural Gas, Power etc. know-how of various risk greeks and PnL Explains, understanding of various types of trades (Options, Features, etc) and market data (curves, fixings/settlements, etc) with respect to commodities business.
  • Experience with Python, C# and database development preferably within a distributed micro-services architecture. Experience of queuing technology useful.
  • Good software engineering skills e.g. SOLID, TDD etc
  • Experience in a Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery and Automated Deployment environment with tools such as Jenkins, OpenShift/Kubernetes, TeamCity, uDeploy.
