They are currently looking for an experienced

to work within the Shifa team for 6 hours per week

Shifa network has been around since 2003. It was initially a social / drop-in group for women who were living with long term mental health issues and had nowhere to turn for help. Shifa's purpose is to empower Asian women with mental and emotional health issues to integrate into mainstream society with improved self-confidence and raised self-esteem. It provides a safe and secure place where women can socialise and access support without feeling stigmatised. Shifa also supports local immigrant women suffering from domestic abuse, anxiety and depression.
As a ESOL Teacher you will deliver ladies only classes in Camberley and Woking, planning learner centred lessons tailored to the needs of women from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. It is key you foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment, ensuring that learners feel comfortable and confident participating in lessons.
6 hours a week, on a Wednesday you will be in Camberley from 1pm – 3pm and on a Thursday and Friday you will be in Woking 10am – 12pm

Our ideal applicant will have/be;
- Recognised teaching qualification (e.g CELTA / TESOL / PGCE / ESOL / TEFL or equivalent)
- Proven experience teaching English as a foreign language ideally within the community
- Strong understanding of the methodologies and adult learning principles
- Excellent communication skills, able to interact well with students
- Caring and empathic nature, able to create a positive and supportive learning environment
