Description
- Overseeing the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organisational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
- Producing financial reports and developing strategies based on financial research
- Guiding financial decisions by establishing, monitoring and enforcing policies and procedures
- Protecting assets by establishing, monitoring and enforcing internal controls
- Maximising return and limiting risk by managing bank balances
- Complying with federal, state and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions
- Keeping up-to-date on information and technology affecting functional area to increase innovation and ensure compliance
- Coordinating with external auditors and managing internal controls
Profile
A successful Assistant Finance Manager should have:
- A relevant degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
- Proven experience as a finance manager in the not for profit sector
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
- A strong understanding of data analysis and forecasting
- Proficiency in MS Office and finance software
Job Offer
