About the role

The role is shared 50:50 working on behalf of Cotswold District Council and West Oxfordshire District Council. Our planning team is fundamental to the success of both council's aspiration for a sustainable future, and we are passionate on leading on the climate and ecological emergencies in our area. Our focus is on enabling communities in Cotswold and West Oxfordshire to thrive, creating great places for people to live, work, learn and enjoy a safe and sustainable future.

As an Infrastructure Delivery Lead, you will lead and manage a team of four, to ensure that when new development comes forward, it is supported by the right investment in infrastructure. From developing policies and processes, through to effective management of both council's Community Infrastructure Levy and Section 106 processes, you will be integral to empowering positive outcomes, using an innovative and solutions focused approach.

Due to the nature of the role, you will need the ability to lead on a variety of complex cases, turning technical concepts into impactful propositions, whilst harnessing change, in line with relevant legislation, prescribed policy, procedures and guidelines.

You will work collaboratively with a variety of partners and stakeholders across both districts, including district councillors, developers, town and parish councils, and external stakeholders. Importantly, you will take ownership of influencing positive change, which in turn will shape our policy and processes, in line with our business plan aspirations.

You will need

  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g. Town Planning, Finance, Audit, Legal, etc.) or equivalent; or working towards a relevant qualification.
  • Eligible for membership of the RTPI, IHCA or equivalent.
  • At least five years proven experience in a town planning, financial, data, audit, legal or related role.
  • Understanding of interplay between the formulation of planning policies, the development management processes and the delivery of new development by the development industry.
