We are seeking a diligent Accounts Clerk to join our clients finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the purchase ledger, handling banking transactions, processing payroll, preparing journals, and assisting with the preparation of management accounts. This role is perfect for someone who has a keen eye for detail and a passion for numbers and looking to continue the accounting career with a forward-thinking business the prides themselves on internal development.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Managing and maintaining the purchase ledger.
  • Conducting daily banking tasks and reconciliations.
  • Assist in the processing payroll in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Preparing accurate journal entries for financial transactions.
  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Ensuring compliance with financial policies and regulations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Accounts Clerk or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent numerical skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
