The ESG Reporting Manager represents a critical part of the organisation's responsibilities against benchmarking and ratings, while supporting the strategy and direction of the business and its trajectory. In this role, you will drive the organisation's horizon-scanning efforts and keep track of global ESG reporting developments to influence the response and strategy to stay ahead of the curve.

You will work closely with the business and the Sustainability team to hold key internal stakeholders accountable to ensure we deliver on our commitments on ESG, efficiently provide reporting to a range of stakeholders ensuring compliance whilst also meeting our challenging targets aligned to the company's corporate strategic objectives.

I help to keep people safe and warm by...

  • Co-ordinating and supporting the delivery of ESG strategic objectives.
  • Engaging and developing effective relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure efficient reporting on progress across the business, bringing value to key stakeholders.
  • Leading in drafting and managing content provision for the preparation of annual reports, including disclosures aligned with the Taskforce for Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), our adopted ESG framework, CDP, regular reporting to shareholders, the Annual Environmental Report, and Climate Adaptation Reporting.
  • Leading internal and external communications to support and enhance SGN's reputation.
  • Leading ESG reporting requirements, including voluntary reporting to investors, banks, and rating agencies, supporting the Treasury Team and liaising across the business to meet deadlines.
  • Leading liaison with the Procurement Team on the ESG approach within our supply chain.

What you'll need

  • As a minimum, the job holder should have relevant education (diploma or a degree) or similar relevant job experience (minimum 5 years is desirable).
  • The technical skills and job knowledge/experience are essential in this job are:
  • Delivering reporting for CDP, TCFD, Sustainability reporting, SECR
  • Reporting towards UK Adaptation Reporting Power (ARP) is desirable
  • Project management experience
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Internal and external communication experience is desirable
