HR Assistant - Part time (Minimum 30 hours) Based in Kingston upon Thames Salary: £25,000 per annum (Pro rata for part time) Full time Office based role

Fantastic opportunity to join a not-for-profit organisation based in the Kingston upon Thames area.

This is a generalist role and involves admin support to the HR function, predominantly in recruitment. Involving all people related administration and coordination tasks (e.g. recruitment and new starter processes); providing accurate and timely managed information, and ensuring compliance with data protection requirements and best practices with regards to the maintenance of the HR system and employees' records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as first point of contact for job related enquiries by telephone or email
  • Assist with the administration of the recruitment process including: preparing and posting job advertisements, arranging and managing the interview process as well as completing new starter paperwork
  • Performing right to work check and Disclosure and Barring Service checks. Follow up on these as required.
  • Process new starter paperwork, ensuring everything is returned, including references.
  • Assist in the processing of all documentation related to the different aspects of employment.
  • Assist with Induction of new starters.
  • Provide course administration for training and development.
  • Ensure training and development records are maintained up to date.
  • Provide administrative support to other members of the Human Resources team as requested.
  • Provide cover and assistance for other team members as appropriate.

Person Specification

  • IT Savvy, proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Previous experience within a similar role
  • CIPD qualified desirable
  • Experience of dealing with sensitive and/or confidential information
  • Understanding of relevant employment legislation
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Able to create good quality written material of a professional standard
  • Calm, friendly and helpful manner
  • Confidential and diplomatic
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
