Location: RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking.

Package: £46,000 - £72,000 per annum (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience)

Let us introduce the role:

You will be required to support the accountancy and control of Nuclear Materials and Other Special Materials by delivering reports as required by the customer, managing software solutions to enhance and improve the future state and leading early engagement with new facility build projects to maintain the UK nuclear non-proliferation commitments and company material strategies.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Build and maintain collaborative cross-functional working relationships with various project teams and the customer.
  • Deliver current and future accountancy projects for the team.
  • Deputise for the Senior Manager by representing the team as Subject Matter Expert on project review boards.
  • Lead team activities and meetings when required.
  • Deliver company accountancy reports to the customer.
  • Manage and maintain the company accountancy and control processes and related documents to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and maintain the company level Inventory Holder Training and Appointment process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that project teams and the customer are fully supported by participating project reviews and other supporting meetings along with technical document review.
  • Lead accountancy and control projects ensuring that they are developed, implemented, and administered across the business.
  • Create reports relating to nuclear material accountancy to the required standard enabling presentation to MoD and Regulators where necessary.
  • Ensure the delivery of reports required by the customer associated with Material Accountancy and Reconciliation are on time and to the correct standard.
  • Ensure that systems are maintained and updated to ensure compliance with material accountancy and control requirements.
  • Ensure that users are trained to use of Material Accountancy systems.

The following would be advantageous:

  • HND/Graduate level qualification or equivalent in engineering/science related discipline, project management, environmental or health and safety related discipline.
  • Experience of delivering projects in a regulated industry.

Important things you need to know:

  • You will need to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role. This will be funded by AWE. The nature of our work does mean you need to be a British Citizen who has been resident in the UK for the past 5 years in order to apply for SC clearance and 10 years for DV.

Due to the classified nature of the work involved, there are limited opportunities to work from home in this role. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will spend the majority of their time working on site at AWE Aldermaston.
