As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the finance department, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions. This is a fantastic opportunity for career growth, with study support provided to help you achieve your professional qualifications.

Your responsibilities as the Assistant Accountant will include:

  • Assist with daily accounting tasks, including accounts payable and receivable.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and perform reconciliations.
  • Support the preparation of financial reports and statements.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Complete payroll and liaise with accountants and staff.
  • Complete all bookkeeping activities and present to management with findings.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Assist with ad-hoc tasks and projects.
  • Maintain the balance sheet.
  • Maintain Fixed Assets.
  • Complete VAT returns.

To be considered for the role of Assistant Accountant:

  • Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g. Xero which the business uses).
