Your responsibilities as the Assistant Accountant will include:
- Assist with daily accounting tasks, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Maintain accurate financial records and perform reconciliations.
- Support the preparation of financial reports and statements.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure financial accuracy.
- Complete payroll and liaise with accountants and staff.
- Complete all bookkeeping activities and present to management with findings.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Assist with ad-hoc tasks and projects.
- Maintain the balance sheet.
- Maintain Fixed Assets.
- Complete VAT returns.
To be considered for the role of Assistant Accountant:
- Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g. Xero which the business uses).
