Position: Medical Laboratory Assistant (Histopathology)
Pay Rates: £10 - £12 per hour
Pay Mechanism: Direct Engagement
Duration: ASAP until 31st March 2025
Hours: 09:00 - 17:00, Monday to Friday
Band: 3

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform all routine tasks within a histopathology laboratory.
- Assist with the preparation and processing of tissue samples.
- Conduct microtomy, producing 25+ blocks per hour (standard and levels).
- Ensure compliance with laboratory protocols and safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Support senior staff with additional laboratory duties as required.
Required Skills:
- Proven experience in a histopathology laboratory.
- Proficiency in microtomy and familiarity with cutting techniques.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Desirable:
- Relevant qualifications in laboratory sciences or a related field.
- Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
