AAT Qualified or Part Qualified in ACCA or CIMA

£28,000 to £30,000 based on qualification and experience

One to One Personnel is proud to be working with our global brand client who is looking for an Assistant Accountant to join team based in Southend on Sea.

To be considered for this role you must have the following requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience, including supervising credit control and financial accounting
  • Experienced in Sage
  • Advanced in Excel and ERP software
  • A minimum of 3 years UK based work experience

Role and Responsibilities

Accounts Payable:

  • Process vendor invoices and other payment requests, verify the accuracy of payment information in a timely and accurate manner
  • Handle employee expense requests in accordance with company policies
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies as needed. Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions
  • Handle invoice coding into the accounting system, ensure proper authorization and approval
  • Communicate with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve payment-related issues
  • Reconcile bank statements and other financial documents
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes for accrual and related reconciliations
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned, working as part of the finance team

VAT Statutory Reporting:

  • Assist VAT reconciliation to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with HM Revenue &Customs (HMRC) regulations
  • Verify VAT calculations and ensure proper documentation for reclaimable VAT
  • Collaborate with the finance team to prepare and submit VAT returns promptly
