We are looking to recruit an Electrical Engineering Specialist who want to make the career change to delivering training and skills. We are looking for a multi-skilled Electrical Engineer with a high level of industry experience who would like to move into training and pass on their knowledge and experience.

Experience of PLCs, Instrumentation, CompEx, High Voltage would be advantageous but not essential. You will bring your industry experience and a desire to be part of developing the next generation of skilled technicians.

The successful applicant will have good craft/technical skills, good interpersonal skills, basic computer skills and more than five years industrial experience. Relevant qualifications to at least City and Guilds Craft certificate, HNC or above would be advantageous, Assessor and teaching qualifications are desirable but not essential as full support will be given in the development of necessary skills.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • The successful candidate will work with the existing instructor teams delivering high quality apprenticeship training for our client companies and also deliver on our range of commercial courses including 18th Edition, 2391, Basic Electrical Maintenance, PAT testing and health and safety courses.
  • Possesses or is pursuing a teaching qualification (e.g., AET, PTLLS, PGCE, Certificate in Education).
  • Possesses and A1 Assessing Qualification (Desirable)
  • Holds a Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification in the subject area of instruction.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in managing challenging behaviours.
  • Has experience engaging with 16–19-year-olds in educational or apprenticeship settings.
  • Exhibits exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organisational abilities.
  • Maintains a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or is willing to apply for one through Reed Compliance.
