  • Salary: £14.17 PAYE / £17.42 Umbrella per hour
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

My client are seeking a Technical Assistant to provide, develop, and manage the technical support of our Highway's Asset service. This role involves providing technical and financial support to senior management and requires a broad knowledge of specialist and technical areas of the service. The successful candidate will ensure costs incurred from third-party damage are recovered and will handle front-line enquiries, complaints, and requests from various sources.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Maintain detailed, comprehensive, and accurate data and information securely and confidentially.
  • Serve notices and permits, monitor status, and update systems as required.
  • Respond to emergencies/dangerous defects on the highway, ensuring appropriate action is taken.
  • Conduct full investigations into incidents on the highway to establish liability.
  • Handle financial administration tasks, including purchase orders, invoicing, and managing invoice queries/disputes.
  • Set up and maintain contracts, ensuring they are renewed as necessary.
  • Analyse data/information and produce reports for a range of audiences.
  • Organise and order training for staff, maintaining a training database.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Relevant level 2 qualification.
  • Extensive experience in an Operational depot or technical environment.
  • Proficiency in handling sensitive and highly confidential information.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with SAP, Symology, Academy, and other databases.
  • Ability to work to and meet strict deadlines
  • Knowledge of commercial operations, resource costing, and works costing.
  • Understanding of General Data Protection Regulation and information governance.
  • Good knowledge of health & safety and risk management.
