Senior Transactional Finance Manager

Location: Leeds (Flex Working – 2 days in the office)

Salary: £65,000 + Bonus & Benefits

Elevation Senior Finance is currently looking to recruit a Senior Transactional Finance Manager on behalf of a large multi-national business in Leeds.

Leading a large team within a fast-paced shared service environment, the business processes millions of bank transactions a year and the bank reconciliation team are an extremely important function, at the heart of the cash control environment.

Key duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the bank reconciliation process for all regions across the Group, including the reconciliation of both admin and client/receivables management accounts
  • Ensure the different regulatory requirements of holding client money in each region are adhered to by developing and owning granular client-level bank reconciliations
  • Drive end to end process improvement by working with External Reporting, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Record to Report and other relevant teams to ensure processes are appropriate and effective
  • Develop the shared service strategy and target operating model for the Bank Reconciliation Team to ensure suitability to support multiple regional operations
  • Provide a robust and industry leading reconciliation and control environment, ensuring timely follow-up and remediation work is applied where necessary
  • Provide support to internal, external and client audits. Ensure robust audit trails and evidence is maintained
  • Ensure appropriate policies are written, owned and updated to ensure strong reconciliation disciplines are front-and-centre
  • Own transformational agenda to ensure processes are fully optimised to the business requirements whilst delivering best in class performance. Ensure a futureproof strategy and roadmap is fully adopted and embedded at all times across the Group
  • Manage the team and future ways of working within the operating model, ensuring performance, engagement and development culture is embedded
  • Develop the Bank Reconciliation Team, providing technical assistance and supporting personal development

Elevation Accountancy & Finance would be keen to speak with candidates with the following skills and experiences:

  • Extensive experience of managing large teams, within a high-volume processing environment, is essential
  • Being a qualified accountant is not essential, but a working knowledge of accounting double-entry and reconciliation processes is essential
  • Working knowledge of reconciliation software/platforms desirable
  • An ability to lead, manage and inspire others is essential
  • An ability to influence director level stakeholders, via written and verbal communication, is essential
  • An ability to verbalise complex scenarios and issues, with technical experts inside and outside the function
  • Technical understanding of cash management financial systems is vital
  • Decisive and robust – able to take ownership and drive decision making
