Placement length: 6 Months Location: Based in Trowbridge, hybrid working, office attendance required 2 to 3 days a week Working hours: Full time, 37 hours per week

This role is within the HR&OD service, reporting directly to the Director of the service.

The HR Operations Manager is an experienced People Operations/HR Shared Services professional with responsibility for the HR advisory and payroll teams.

You will be responsible for overseeing key aspects of the employee lifecycle, ensuring that HR support and advice is readily available for both routine and complex queries. You will ensure that the service provided aligns with the Council's strategic goals, its Workforce Strategy, and continuous programme to ensure delivery of a high performance.As the lead for the HR Advisory team,

you will need a strong understanding and working knowledge of employment law with professional credibility to advise and coach is essential for this role, as you will be required to provide professional and responsive HR support and advice on matters concerning the workforce, such as TUPE, disciplinary actions, grievances, absences, work performance, consultations, etc.

You will oversee the line management of Payroll services for the Council, schools, academies, pensions, and other organisations utilising these services. You will collaborate with relevant team managers to manage workloads effectively and efficiently, allocate resources based on demand, enhance professional skills and performance, and support the achievement of agreed objectives.
