Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of students across all age groups, from nursery to post-16.
- Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) specifically for students with SEMH needs.
- Create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment that promotes the academic, social, and emotional development of each student.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and other specialists to provide comprehensive support.
- Assess and monitor student progress, adapting teaching strategies as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Engage with parents and caregivers to provide regular updates on student progress and to foster a collaborative approach to education.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS).
- Experience working with students with a range of SEMH needs, as well as other complex needs such as ASC, ADHD, PMLD, MLD, and SLD.
- Strong knowledge of SEMH best practices and relevant legislation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a commitment to promoting the welfare and development of each student.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and across different age groups.
