The Role:
My client, a leader in the design and manufacture of skid-mounted rotary compressors for various industries, is seeking a QHSE Manager. This role is pivotal in maintaining the Quality Management System and ensuring ISO9001:2015 accreditation. The QHSE Manager will ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and promote a strong Health and Safety culture throughout the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and monitor the company's QHSE performance, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety legislation.
- Ensure in-process inspection, documentation, and testing activities are accurate, and all materials received and dispatched meet specifications.
- Advise on all QHSE matters to ensure compliance with statutory, company, and contractual requirements.
- Oversee the Quality Management System to maintain ISO9001 accreditation, including documentation, records, audits, and customer satisfaction.
- Liaise with customers and supply chain on QHSE matters to meet their expectations.
- Manage third-party inspections and audits related to company accreditation and compliance.
- Maintain records of Lifting Equipment and machinery inspections.
- Update quality objectives and KPI measures quarterly.
- Chair the H&S/Business Improvement Committee to evaluate and improve systems and procedures.
- Conduct monthly H&S site inspections and report findings.
- Ensure timely investigations and reports on defective components.
- Conduct risk assessments and manage emergency procedures.
- Review training and competency with Team Leaders and arrange necessary training.
- Report on QHSE performance to the leadership team and statutory authorities.
- Conduct QHSE inductions and training courses.
- Act as the subject matter expert for all QHSE matters.
- Resolve and escalate issues as needed.
- Provide QHSE consultancy to subsidiaries and affiliates as required.
You:
- Educated to HNC/D or degree level, with a Quality Assurance qualification from an accredited body (e.g., CQI Certificate).
- NEBOSH or similar qualification required; ISO9001:2015 auditor qualification and HNC/D in Mechanical Engineering are advantageous.
- Experience managing and implementing Quality Management and H&S Systems.
- Experience in a Quality Inspection role within manufacturing or engineering, including Metrology/Calibration/FARO Arm/CMM.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and frequent interruptions.
- Self-motivated with a desire to set high standards for yourself and others.
