My client, an international company, is looking to appoint a full time, permanent Safety, Health and Environmental Co-Ordinator. An engineering background or engineering qualifications are preferable.

You will be responsible for the maintenance and update of the established SHE systems, covering both ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 accreditations.

This role would be ideal for someone with a basic knowledge of Health and Safety, ideally NEBOSH qualified, who is looking to make a career in Health and Safety. You must be able to work independently with minimal guidance required, implying good time management, planning, organisational and decision making skills.

Ideally, you will have been working in a role similar to this for the last two to three years, but are looking for a change and a real career path.

Full training and development are offered so that progression with the business for a long term career is a reality.

Your role will be to advise the Managing Director and site personnel on all Safety, Health and Welfare matters to ensure the company complies with its statutory obligations.

You will ensure that the company policy for Health, Safety and the Environment is effective and that all employees and contractors are made aware of their individual responsibility.

You will understand the application of the Health and Safety at Work Act and other legislation relevant to the business and you will keep up to date with legislation to ensure the accurate interpretation of legislation to enable implementation within the business.

Maintaining the company's ISO 45001 system for Occupational Health and safety and the company's ISO 14001 system for Environmental Management is essential - as well as revising these in line with any updates to relevant legislation.

You will be supporting the QSHE Manager and providing support during third party audits, either by accreditation agencies or customers.

Good communication skills are essential as you will be working closely with all managers and supervisors and business areas to ensure that relevant SHE requirements are fully understood and being followed. You will provide support where further training is required and give feedback to the management team if there are any areas of concern.

You will carry out investigations into all accidents and near-miss incidents and record the findings.

You will set a personal example with regard to Health and Safety procedures and wearing the correct PPE.

My client ideally requires the following qualifications/experience, although training will be offered for the right candidate if you don't have all of the following:

Engineering qualifications

NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent

Good knowledge of ISO 45001; ISO 14001; and ISO 9001

Auditing qualification of ISO 45001; ISO 14001; and ISO 9001

If you are selected for initial interview, full information relating to the client and a full Job Description will be provided.

If you believe that you are the right person for this role, please let me have your CV as soon as possible.
