Job Title: Contract Designer for Tooling and Fixturing (Engineer II Level)

Job Description: We are actively seeking a Contract Designer for Tooling and Fixturing at the Engineer II level. This role involves leading a workstream within a project, supporting the development and implementation of new tooling and fixturing solutions.

Responsibilities:
Lead and manage workstreams within larger projects, focusing on tooling and fixturing.
Support the engineering team with CAD requirements.
Design and build new tooling and fixtures.
Collaborate with subcontractors, vendors, and materials management.
Sustain product lines by addressing issues with production tooling.
Work closely with the R&D and product development teams to develop next-generation products.

Ideal Candidate:
Education: Level 8 in Mechanical Engineering or Design (or equivalent).
Experience: 4-5 years of industry experience, preferably in medical devices.

Skills:
Proficiency in SolidWorks and PDM (file management system).
Experience in tooling and fixturing is preferred.
Solid understanding of low volume, high-value manufacturing environments.

Flexibility: Candidates without a degree will be considered if they have substantial industry experience. A background as an apprentice toolmaker or in a machining environment is highly valued.

Hybrid Role: Initially onsite for the first 3 months to integrate into the team, transitioning to a hybrid model (3 days onsite, 2 days remote) based on performance.
