ICT Technical Security Lead

Location: Police Headquarters, Exeter, Police Headquarters, Winfrith, Dorset

Salary: Grade 8 - Starts at £40,950 per annum rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £45,546 per annum

Type of Working Arrangement: Hybrid Worker - Hybrid working is a form of flexible working where workers spend some of their time working remotely (Usually, but not necessarily, from home) and some in the employer's workspace.

The Role

The Police are seeking an ICT Technical Security Lead to manage, monitor and optimise the ICT security across both Devon & Cornwall and Dorset Police.

Responsibilities include providing detailed accurate advice in the feasibility and impact of strategic and tactical changes to the ICT security, systems, and services. This will involve working with stakeholders and government bodies to promote ICT service continuity and cyber-resilience, whilst managing security incidents and recovery activities. Working closely with Information Assurance Teams, the wider ICT department and both force executives, you will lead a team of security analysts.

The ideal candidate will have a previous ICT security background, ideally with ICT security qualifications and/or business continuity qualifications (although these can be achieved following successful appointment into the role)

This role can be based at the Police Headquarters in Exeter or Police Headquarters in Winfrith. This is a hybrid role which means there is an opportunity for regular home working.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to undertake and achieve ITIL Service Practitioner level certification if not held already, this should be within the first two years of appointment.

  • ICT Security qualifications: -

  • CISMP - Certificate in Information Security Management Principles, to be achieved within the first year of appointment, if not he already held

  • CISSP - Certified Information Systems Security Professional, to be achieved within the first two years of appointment, if not already held

  • Business Continuity qualification - to be achieved within the first two years of appointment, if not already held
