Data Manager BI & Data Engineering

We are seeking an ambitious Business Intelligence Manager to provide transformative reporting solutions across our organisation. This role involves leading an experienced reporting team and optimising data analytics platforms to support strategic decision-making.

  • Salary: up to £70,000 (depending on experience)

Day to day of the role:

  • Support the business in delivering on each of its core strategies.
  • Become the go-to person for support with value-adding reporting requests.
  • Design, model, build, and manipulate data warehouses.
  • Optimize the Azure Data Analytics platform for diverse data source ingestion to support Power BI reporting.
  • Build, optimise, and manage metadata of data models.
  • Run and maintain a cost-effective Azure Cloud reporting infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with security, data protection, and compliance teams to maintain a secure and compliant data architecture.
  • Manage customisation and development projects from proposal to deployment.
  • Resolve faults such as reporting failures and customer challenges.
  • Create and maintain a documented development library.
  • Develop and lead a team of Data Analysts/Engineers.
  • Role model the organisation's values and behaviours.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in a similar Business Intelligence role.
  • Strong experience in reporting, data integration, and technical skills, with in-depth SQL knowledge.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft technologies such as Azure, Data Factory, SQL Server, Power Platform, Powershell, Azure DevOps, Visual Studio, Tabular Editor.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Dynamics, Business Central is beneficial.
  • Solid understanding and experience of database management systems and ETL Framework.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and drive professional development.
  • Ability to manage and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong data interpretation skills; detail-oriented, creative, inquisitive, persistent, and self-motivated.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical terms into business language.
  • Previous project management experience is advantageous.
