Finance Administrator - 12 mth FTC

Santander Consumer Finance UK (SCUK) is based in Redhill, Surrey and provides motor finance to a network of dealerships throughout the United Kingdom.

We are looking for a Finance Administrator to be responsible for the allocation of all cash and cash related transactions received from ours and our joint ventures bank accounts along with the accounts payable process.

Please note this role is a hybrid role with at least 2 days a week in the Redhill office. Remote workers will not be considered. The job holder must also be in the office on the last and first working days of the month.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Scanning supplier invoices
  • Validating and encoding supplier invoices
  • Resolving supplier queries in a timely manner, referring to senior resource where necessary
  • Reconciling supplier statements to ensure accuracy and integrity of profit & loss account
  • Updating Walker Financials with supplier transactions
  • Validating cheque payments
  • Encoding cash & cheque payments to customer agreements
  • Performing a daily reconciliation of cash transactions processed versus transactions banked
  • Banking cheques to Walker Financials
  • Logging and encoding of CHAPS and BACS payments on banking systems
  • Processing transactions received on all bank accounts to customer agreements and / or Walker Financials
  • Reconciling and processing credit card payments to customer agreements
  • Investigate and resolve internal customer queries received by both telephone and email
  • Ensuring that all documentation is passed for scanning and providing cover if required
  • Adhering to our commitment to Consumer Duty ensuring we put our Customers' needs first and set higher and clearer standards of consumer protection

What we're looking for:

  • Excellent MS Office skills, especially Excel which is necessary
  • Independent; ability to operate effectively with minimal guidance
  • Well organised, goal orientated, able to meet deadlines and able to prioritise work
  • Should be comfortable working to tight and immovable deadlines
  • Keen attention to detail and advanced analytic skills
  • Proactive, task focused, and has initiative
  • An interest or qualification (AAT) in finance/accounting would be beneficial but is not essential as full training will be provided
  • Use of SAGE Accounts would be beneficial
