Claims Assessor (Accident, sickness, and unemployment Insurance claims)

Location: Brighton

Salary: £27k - £30k DOE + Great company benefit package

Hours: Mon-Fri 9am - 5pm of 10am - 6pm

Do you have a proven claims background ideally within accident, sickness and unemployment and want to work for a supportive, friendly organisation that offers a fully funded CII qualification and career progression? If so, I have a unique role working within a well-established brokerage that are expanding and offer a proactive and modern working environment in Brighton.

You will support the business by overseeing the ongoing claims management process and procedures on a day-to-day basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Be able to communicate effectively, both in written format and verbal expression.
  • Demonstrate attributes of honesty, integrity, due skill, care, and diligence always.
  • Provide advice on making new claims and the process involved.
  • Processing new claim notifications
  • Fully analyse the claim made by the policy holder.
  • Collecting accurate information and documents to proceed with a claim.
  • Assess and determine the outcome of the claim and issue decision updates.
  • Monitor and update ongoing and existing claims.
  • Fully manage claims from beginning through to settlement.
  • Investigate potentially fraudulent claims.
  • Handle first stage complaints associated with a claim.
  • Liaise with the team to deliver marketing leading service standards.

The right candidate will have the following skills and experience to apply:

  • Proven claims handling experience with a strong knowledge in casualty claims handling process and procedures.
  • Knowledge of accident, sickness, and unemployment policies.
  • Excellent communication and investigative skills.
  • Excellent level of understanding of the regulatory requirements of the FCA.
  • Ability to manage your own caseload to ensure prompt, timely and effective handling of claims.
  • Great IT skills and can pick up new inhouse systems quickly.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
