Duration: 6 Months

Working Pattern: Hybrid (3 days in the office, 2 days at home) | Monday to Friday | 7 hours per day (flexible between 8am and 6pm)

About the Role:
Our client is seeking a dynamic and motivated Senior Licensing Officer to join our team for a 6-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping their new Gambling Policy. If you have a knack for writing licensing policies and procedures, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a new Local Area Profile by analysing various factors, data, and local information.
  • Engage proactively with responsible authorities and stakeholders to map local risks.
  • Review and update the City's existing Gambling Policy, ensuring alignment with the new Local Area Profile, recent legislative changes, and the City's new Corporate Plan.
  • Conduct a formal consultation on policy changes, engaging with residents, license holders, industry representatives, and other stakeholders.
  • Analyse consultation responses and recommend policy changes where necessary.
  • Support the Licensing Manager in reviewing other policies, including the City's Al-Fresco Dining policy and Street Trading policy.

Knowledge, Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of the Gambling Act 2005, and preferably the Licensing Act 2003, Business and Planning Act 2020, and street trading legislation.
  • Proven experience in writing local authority policies and procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, GIS, and case management software.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines.
