Job Summary:

As the Head of Product, you will oversee all products throughout their lifecycle. Your responsibilities include monitoring success, assessing market and sales changes, identifying customer needs and product gaps, and optimizing categories in alignment with strategic goals. Additionally, you will coordinate new product and category launches with the sales team to maximize opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Define and develop B2C (marketplace) and B2B category/product strategies.
  • Establish ownership and create a development plan for each category.

  • Develop and report ongoing category health metrics monthly and quarterly.

  • Review existing categories/products to assess margin and growth contributions, identifying gaps or opportunities for new products.

  • Scope strategic category development to grow business within existing customer bases and explore new sales channels.

  • Implement a project gatekeeping review structure to monitor progress and ensure clear communication across all departments.

  • Plan and coordinate product and category launches, including packaging and marketing support to ensure successful sell-in.

Expectations:

  • Focus on rapid growth channels, particularly marketplaces.
  • Research and support new product vitality for seasonal trading and promotional activities.
  • Collaborate with the Junior Product Manager to identify key categories and monitor their health.
  • Conduct competitor and market price and quality benchmarking to support unique selling propositions (USPs).
  • Drive annualized growth targets: £750K for B2C and £1.0m for B2B.

Skills & Competency Requirements:

  • Minimum three years of experience in a B2C/B2B business, ideally with marketplace or online channel support.
  • Self-motivated with a strong determination to achieve the best results.
  • Proficiency in Excel (analytics), PowerPoint, and Canva. A graphics qualification is useful.
  • Strong organizational skills in project management.
  • Ability to manage and define brand guidelines across all business assets and communications.
