Technical Machine Operator

Job Summary:

The Technical Machine Operator will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting high-speed bottling and canning machinery. The ideal candidate will ensure that production lines run smoothly and efficiently, adhering to safety and quality standards. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Salary = £12+ DOE

Shifts = 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm (Mon-Fri) Rotating weekly. Some OT will be required.

_Key Responsibilities: _

Machine Operation:

Operate high-speed bottling and canning machinery to meet daily production targets.

Set up and adjust machines to start production cycles and control machine settings.

Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions and ensure optimal performance.

Load raw materials (e.g., bottles, cans, caps) into machines and manage finished product handling.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

Execute machine changeovers and calibrations as required by production schedules.

Conduct regular inspections and maintain records of equipment performance and issues.

Quality Control:

Inspect products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.

Perform quality checks at various stages of production to identify and address any defects.

Adjust machine components to improve product quality and reduce waste.

Safety and Compliance:

Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure machines operate within safe parameters.

Report any unsafe conditions or practices to the Production Team Leader.

Follow company policies and procedures, including compliance with food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, GMP).

Team Collaboration:

Collaborate with team members to optimize production efficiency and workflow.

Assist in training new operators and provide ongoing guidance to team members.

Communicate effectively with the production supervisor and other departments.

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years experience operating machinery in a manufacturing environment, preferably in food and beverage bottling or canning.
Experience with automated production lines and high-speed machinery is highly desirable.

Skills:

Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical Standard Operating Procedures
Proficient in using hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
Basic computer skills for data entry and machine interface operation.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
