About MakeMyHouseGreen

At MakeMyHouseGreen, we're on a mission to simplify and accelerate the adoption of solar energy in the UK. Our platform uses data-driven tools to help customers understand if solar is right for them, get accurate quotes, and connect with expert installation support. This role is part of our drive to grow our in-house installation capacity and deliver even more top-quality installations.

Where You Fit In

As an Electrical Solar Installer, you'll be a key player in helping us scale the number and quality of installations we deliver. You'll take ownership of on-site electrical work, sign off other electricians' installations, and play a leadership role in how we train and support our growing team. You'll be the most senior hands-on electrician in the business, working closely with our operations team to set the standard for how we deliver.

Your Role

  • Deliver solar PV and battery installations on residential properties
  • Sign off the electrical work of other electricians to ensure compliance and quality
  • Support and troubleshoot electrical aspects of installations across sites
  • Mentor and train newer electricians and installation staff
  • Work with operations and leadership to define and refine installation best practices

You Should Apply If You Have:

Must-Haves:

  • Strong technical electrical knowledge, including Level 3 NVQ or equivalent
  • Capability to sign off electrical work under NAPIT or NICEIC
  • A high level of reliability and professionalism
  • Excellent communication skills with customers and teammates
  • A strong work ethic and pride in delivering top-quality results quickly
  • Driving licence
  • Based in or around the London-Bristol-Birmingham triangle

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience mentoring or training others
  • Experience delivering domestic solar PV and battery installations
  • Interest in improving systems and workflows across installations

What a Typical Day Looks Like

Most of your time will be spent on-site, delivering installations hands-on. You'll also:

  • Sign off work completed by other electricians
  • Support with solving complex electrical challenges when they arise
  • Occasionally work with the ops team to improve how we do things across the business

This isn't a role for someone who wants to step away from tools and into an office. It's for someone who thrives in the field and wants to lead by example.

What's In It For You?

  • Be the most senior installer in a fast-growing green tech business
  • Help shape the future of our install operations and grow the team
  • Get hands-on exposure to new solar PV and battery technologies
  • Develop your skills with real investment in training and growth
  • Make a tangible impact on the UK's clean energy transition
