Sales Team Manager

This role isn't for everybody. Because the Sales Team Manager is a very broad role, from setting the sales strategy to rolling up your sleeves and supporting your direct reports, you must have experience in I&C for either Power or Gas.

The principal task of the Sales Team Manager is simple, to set a strategy to deliver your agreed sales targets, lead on strategic accounts, support your direct reports on their accounts and to maintain productive internal and external relationships.

Your new role (Sales Team Manager)

The key responsibilities of the Sales Team Manager are to:

  • Set the vision and direction of the team
  • Hit your pre-agreed sales targets (individually and collectively)
  • Liaise with external customers including TPI's, groups and baskets
  • Ensure high levels of sustained performance and performance management where appropriate
  • Analyse and present analytical data
  • Form part of a Senior Leadership Team ensuring that the collective goals are achieved and acting as a positive role model
  • Challenge the status quo, improving processes and customer journeys

Benefits

  • Salary = £50k to £60k
  • OTE = A very significant % (to be discussed at interview)
  • Bonus = 10% (company + individual performance)
  • WFH ~4-3 days p.w. | Birmingham (B1 - New Street area) ~1-2 day p.w.
  • 24 days holiday (excluding bank holidays). Rising to 26 days after 1 year

Essential skills and experience

  • Knowledge of the energy industry from an I&C / B2B perspective
  • Ability to create a sales strategy, track, monitor and course correct
  • Ability to achieve results through others
  • To act as a leader, manager and positive role model
  • Ability to take data and provide a clear and coherent story to support a sales conversation
  • Dealing internally and externally with customers and TPI's
  • A high level of self awareness and reflection

The Interview Process

  • 60 min TEAMS interview with the Head of Sales (HoS) + 1 other.
  • The completion of a Thomas Perform assessment.
  • 60 min face to face interview + presentation with the HoS and Sales & Marketing Director.
