Full Time / Permanent Role

My client who is a country wide independent building materials group are currently seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager to join them on a full time permanent basis based at their surrey location. The role will cover the Godstone and Crawley areas for new and existing business within the building materials, concrete and construction industry.

This is a fast paced role due which will require working independently at times - you will need to show an interest in figures and profits to ensure successful tender for large projects and repeat business.

The Role

  • Exciting opportunity to join the Commercial Team, managing the commercial performance for our Godstone, Surrey and Crawley, West Sussex Plants.
  • Through a complete market knowledge, deliver on agreed commercial targets in relation to value added products, revenue, and margin.
  • As a proven negotiator, develop key customer relationships in a new market area for company and build long term customer loyalty.
  • Support the commercial credit policy at all times and liaise with customers to manage our risks.
  • Use your skills as a team player to work alongside all departments and deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Produce accurate commercial reports and forecasts.

The Requirements

  • Self-confident and self-motivated individual with strong selling and negotiation skills and a proven track record in delivering results.
  • You must have strong interpersonal skills to engage in a wide range of internal and external customers.
  • Be able to quickly interpret industry and market knowledge to devise and deliver local commercial strategies.
  • Demonstrate our brand values.
  • Must be IT literate along with business report writing skills.

Having building materials, concrete or construction sales experience or similar would be advantageous for this role.
