Housing Community Safety Assistant

We are pleased to be recruiting for our Southend client who is seeking a Housing Community Safety Assistant for this role you will need a driving licence and your own transport and will be reimbursed for use.

You will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day provision of a customer service housing community safety service for residents.

The role:

You will actively contribute towards achieving performance, quality and service standards and work within policies and procedures to ensure the highest possible standards of standards of service to tenants.

Your responsibilities:

  • Responding to enquiries from members of the public, partner agencies or colleagues from across the organisation, either in person or by telephone within identified timescales and, as necessary referring them to the appropriate officer
  • Processing incoming and outgoing post
  • Providing general administrative support to the whole of the Housing Community Safety Team ensuring tenancy records are updated and maintained
  • Working collaboratively with Tenancy and Support Services team to deliver a responsive and effective ASB and Community safety service
  • Assisting in the gathering of intelligence and evidence to deal with ASB and community safety issues through engagement
  • Reviewing evidence (including but not limited to sound monitoring equipment, body worn CCTV and static CCTV systems) as directed by Housing Community Safety Team to identify anti-social behaviour and or criminal activity
  • Carrying out visits to residents' homes, undertaking door knocking exercises and surveys, and community events offering advice and assistance in relation to ASB and community safety
  • Assisting in the recording and assessing Anti-Social Behaviour cases, including undertaking a risk assessment and recording on our clients software
  • Compiling reports where necessary, maintain tenancy records and ensure replies to correspondence and enquiries are prepared within set timescales and targets
  • Attending any training sessions as directed by the Housing Community Safety Manager including formal qualifications relevant to the position
  • Using and operating the Company's computer systems as required

What we are looking for

  • Minimum of 1 year tenancy management or income management experience is desirable
  • *Must have a UK driving license with own car*
  • Must hold a CSAS Accreditation or be willing to attain a CSAS Accreditation
  • Ability to think analytically and can make rational, realistic and sound judgments
  • Be physically fit
  • Experience in using standard IT packages – Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • An understanding of ASB, Community Safety or Tenancy Management procedures is desirable
  • Ability to manage pressure and demonstrate a common sense attitude to complex situations
  • Able to tackle and resolve conflict constructively
  • Experience of dealing with difficult and aggressive customers

Salary: £13.00 per hour

Job Type: Temp initially possible Perm opportunity available

Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours – Hybrid working
