MANAGER

BRIEF

The Specification Manager will be responsible for driving sales performance and growth on a national level. Your primary goal will be to increase lighting specification sales revenue and create greater awareness of the portfolio within these markets. You will come with a proven track record of sales excellence within the lighting market, utilising your knowledge, contacts and experience to grow market share. You will be provided with exceptional product innovation and quality, market leading stock availability and back up and support to bring a high level of success to the business and to you within your role. In addition you will be proactive, driven, commercially aware and have a determination to succeed, these characteristics will determine the successful applicant.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • A pro-active and proven approach to lighting specification sales, with a strong desire and ability to win and grow new business.
  • You will have experience of selling bespoke lighting directly into the hospitality industry with a strong industry network and solid knowledge of market conditions.
  • Possess excellent negotiation, influencing and account management skills.
  • Experience of working in a target driven sales role (your drive to achieve this should be unwavering).
  • Ability to build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships, ensuring repeat business and generating new leads.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, combined with a sound working knowledge of Microsoft office applications.
  • Proficiency in CRM Software is desirable
  • Hold a Full UK driving licence and have a willingness to travel and stay away as required.

POSITION SUMMARY

Home and field based role with travel UK-wide as required.

Fully expensed Company Car, Phone & Laptop

Full product training to ensure you have the knowledge to succeed and maximise profitability within a large and promising sector.

In this key role, you will spend four days a week visiting customers and potential customers and one day per week is reserved for appointment planning and administration duties onsite in Alton, Hampshire.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prospect high potential new corporate customers and grow new revenue, scheduling meetings and presentations to assist in making our lighting the preferred choice.
  • Responsible for the sales of bespoke products, liaising extensively with internal cross-functional teams to effectively plan and share upcoming project demands.
  • Create and maintain an active pipeline of projects and opportunities. Engaging directly with key influencers and business decision makers with the goal of increasing sales.
  • Develop high levels of product knowledge to answer customer questions and provide technical advice as required.
  • Embrace modern sales techniques submitting information into our CRM system with project logs, call planning, key visit notes and quotations.
  • Monitor and analyse sales performance, determining and implementing strategies to meet changing market conditions.
  • Collaborate with the sales team and senior management to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to remain at the forefront of the UK Lighting Market.
  • As necessary, attend trade shows and other industry events to capitalize on networking and relationship-building opportunities.
  • Provide regular updates to the Director of Sales UK & Ireland.
  • Submit expenses on Sage HR and submit regular mileage sheets, operating within agreed expense guidelines.
  • Keep any company car under your care clean, tidy, smoke free and roadworthy at all times by ensuring that all maintenance requirements are adhered to, as and when required.
