  • Support the student's social and emotional development, helping them manage challenges, build relationships, and develop independence.
  • Work closely with the class teacher to track and monitor the pupil's progress, providing feedback to support the development and adjustment of their Individual Education Plan (IEP).
  • Promote positive behavior and support the student in managing any emotional or behavioral difficulties in line with the school's policies.

  • Assist with personal care if required, ensuring the child's well-being and dignity at all times.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEN, ideally in a primary school setting, and providing one-to-one support.
  • A patient, nurturing, and flexible approach to supporting a child with additional needs.
  • The ability to adapt teaching strategies and materials to meet the child's individual learning needs.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCo, and external professionals.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) are desirable but not essential.
  • Previous experience working with children with developmental or learning difficulties such as Autism, ADHD, or other related needs would be an advantage.

Benefits:

  • £16.15 per hour.
  • A supportive school environment with a strong commitment to SEN inclusion.
  • Opportunities for ongoing professional development and training.
  • A chance to make a real difference in the life of a child with special educational needs.
