At Newcome Education, we see past the labels associated with learning differences and instead see the young person and their potential. We currently have 4 schools and a range of exciting opportunities as we continue to expand to meet the needs of more young people.

The role
You will provide administrative support at an executive level within the organisation. This role is accountable for project coordination, communication with stakeholders, diary management,
supporting meetings, coordinating meeting schedules, creation of agendas, minutes and action tracking across multiple systems and organisations. This role will also take a lead in team
coordination in various ways across schools, where alignment and systemic benefits can be found.

Amongst other responsibilities you will:

  • Manage the calendars for the Operations Director including planning and coordinating regular management meetings, Governors meetings and visits.
  • Create and maintain an effective administrative system and support for the Operations Director.
  • Be a point of contact for the administration teams of all Newcome schools to ensure resources are shared and maximise utilisation.
  • Support the coordination and administration data requirements across all Newcome schools.
  • Prepare and distribute papers for and take minutes at monthly and termly meetings and other ad hoc events e.g. safeguarding investigations, disciplinary/grievance appeal hearings.
  • To assist with any managed recruitment campaigns including management of applicant responses and interview arrangements.

Experience
We are looking for someone with exceptional organisational, data management and communication skills, who thrives in a busy and pressurised work environment. You will plan and
organise a varied workload, including secretarial and administrative support, alongside contributing to a range of key projects and activities for the Operations Director.

Administration experience at a management level, with proven experience supporting a senior Executive is essential. An understanding of the SEN Education sector and/or experience of working
within a specialist independent school would be advantageous but is not essential.

Our Schools
The group of Schools that the Operations Director / Principal currently oversees are:

  • Quorn Hall School, Leicestershire
  • Hardwick House School, Loughborough
  • Wilds Lodge School, Rutland
  • Gretton School, Cambridgeshire

Travel between sites will be required, however we encourage flexible working where possible and expenses are paid from the base school (closest school to candidate).

Our Eastern Region Schools offer education placements for children and young people with very complex needs, often living in complex circumstances. Many of our learners have diagnoses of Autism and/or are considered to have a social, emotional or mental health need; and may have experienced exclusion from mainstream settings.

About Us
All our schools are committed to offering a relational approach to education, informed by specialist knowledge of Autism and SEMH. Children and Young People who attend our schools have frequently experienced disrupted relationships as a consequence of their needs not being understood or met in other settings. We are committed to offering learners reparative experiences of relationships in order to enable them to meet their full potential.

Within this overarching relational frame, we draw on evidence based approaches such as restorative practice and positive behaviour support to meet the needs of our students and support the wellbeing of the whole school community.

If this role aligns with your own ethos, experience and skills set, we would love to hear from you.
