We're looking for a qualified In-House Legal Advisor (2+ years PQE) to join a high-impact role, providing critical legal support to farming professionals across the UK. You'll manage a variety of cases and contribute to shaping policies that support British farmers.

Description

The In-House Legal Advisor will:

  • Manage your own caseload, providing legal and technical advice to board members and regional stakeholders.
  • You'll assess and process applications for legal financial assistance, ensuring compliance with the scheme's rules while protecting its funds.
  • You'll provide guidance and support on matters through external panel Solicitors.
  • You'll be involved in a wide range of legal disputes including; contracts, land, regulatory, rights of way, employment, tenancies, planning and judicial review.
  • Additionally, you'll promote the Legal Assistance Scheme within designated regions, liaise with third-party advisers, and contribute to the overall strategy of the organisation.

Profile

The In-House Legal Adviser should hold:

  • A Solicitor or Legal Executive.
  • Background in a legal advisory role, preferably within litigation and a not-for-profit organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of UK litigation law and regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively in a team.
